On Thursday, September 21, a disturbing incident took place in the Gresham neighborhood of Chicago when a 56-year-old man was shot in both legs while walking in an alley, according to the Chicago Police Department. The victim heard shots fired and instantly felt pain, sending him to the hospital in serious condition.
The man, who remains unnamed, was strolling in the alley around 3:14 a.m. when the gunfire broke out in the 7600 block of South Stewart Avenue, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago. Tragically, he received gunshot wounds to each leg and required urgent transportation to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment.
As the investigation unfolds, the victim was found unable to provide further details of the incident, and, unfortunately, no one is in custody as of yet. Area Two Detectives have teamed up with the Chicago Police Department and are actively investigating the case in hopes of bringing justice to the victim, and restoring peace to the community.
