On wednesday night, a shooting occured on the 900 block of North Cicero Avenue in Austin neighborhood. A man was sitting in his parked vehicle when an unknown assailant traveling in a white sedan shot him, according to Fox 32 Chicago.

Dispatched to the scene, officers from the 11th District were met with the harrowing sight of a gunshot wound victim, whose life had momentarily hung in the balance. The male related to officers that being inside the vehicle provided little protection against the aggressor, whose identity remains unknown.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he is currently listed in good condition, as reported on the Chicago Police Department's media release.

At present, there is no suspect in custody. Area Four Detectives have taken on the task of investigating the incident in an attempt to discover the truth lurking in the darkness.
