Earlier yesterday, Pacifica Police Department officers apprehended a suspect, Austin Roberts, in connection to a stolen vehicle case, potentially linked to recent thefts and burglaries in the area. The arrest follows a noticeable increase in criminal activity targeting local businesses, prompting police to intensify patrols to protect the community.
According to a Facebook post by the Pacifica Police Department, an officer on patrol encountered a suspicious vehicle parked at a gas station on the 2000 block of Coast Highway at approximately 4:08 AM. After contacting the driver, identified as 35-year-old Austin Roberts of Santa Rosa, CA, the investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Santa Rosa.
Roberts was subsequently arrested for violation of possession of stolen vehicle. Officers are currently conducting further investigation to determine if Austin may be involved in other thefts or burglaries and to potentially reveal any accomplices or a more extensive crime network.
