Earlier this week, an armed robbery took place in Dorchester, Boston, with the suspect displaying a firearm and making off with an undisclosed amount of money. An ongoing investigation led detectives to identify a suspect and his residence, ultimately leading to a tense standoff and the involvement of SWAT and negotiators. According to the Boston Police Department, the suspect had barricaded himself in his apartment.
Following initial investigations and the review of security camera footage, officers pinpointed an involved suspect motor vehicle. After tracing the suspect to an apartment at 419 Seaver Street, officers and detectives proceeded to the scene to speak with the individual in question. Despite numerous attempts, however, the suspect refused to acknowledge their presence or answer the door.
This prompted the involvement of the SWAT team and negotiators, who were successful in securing Andrew Singleton, 38, of Boston, after a period of negotiation and a forced entry into the apartment. Singleton is charged with armed robbery and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court, according to the Boston Police Department.
