
On Thursday, September 21st, an armed robbery in the South Side of Chicago ended with the arrest of 19-year-old Kewyon Irving.
According to the Chicago Police Department, Irving allegedly held a 33-year-old male victim at gunpoint in the 7600 block of S. Peoria (6th District) during the brazen robbery attempt.
The incident led to swift action by responding officers, who apprehended Irving and successfully recovered his firearm.
Irving now faces one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on a person.
His detention hearing is scheduled for today, September 22nd, 2023, at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
