U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized a shipment of counterfeit merchandise worth over $1 million in Chicago O'Hare's International Mail Branch today. According to the CBP, the confiscated shipment contained 67 pieces of counterfeit designer watches, bracelets, handbags, and scarves—all low-quality knockoffs of famed brands such as Rolex, Gucci, Hermes, and Louis Vuitton.
Fiscal Year 2022 saw the CBP seizing over 24.5 million shipments with Intellectual Property Rights violations, valued at just shy of $3 billion had the goods been genuine.
