In Lincoln, New Hampshire, a woman was killed, and several others injured, in a horrific SUV accident. According to NBC Boston, the crash occurred on the evening earlier this week. Authorities are still trying to piece together what unfolded that fateful night to cause the loss of an innocent life and put five others in harm's way.
New Hampshire State Police were called to the scene shortly before 7 p.m., where they found the vehicle—a white 2011 Infiniti QX56—in distress. The Infiniti had reportedly hit a stone wall and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof in the right shoulder. While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary reports suggest that the driver was navigating slippery, wet conditions when they swerved to avoid an animal darting into the road, south of Franconia Notch. As a result, the Infiniti overturned and crashed into the wall, according to InDepthNH.org.
The impact was so severe that a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle and subsequently trapped beneath it. A good Samaritan who witnessed the crash backed their truck into the SUV, desperately attempting to help lift it off the woman. Despite their efforts, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Fortunately, the driver and four children in the vehicle escaped with only minor injuries. As the investigation continues, authorities have appealed to the public for any information that may assist in uncovering the precise events that transpired.
