Last Monday, a tragic motorcycle accident caused the death of a Cambridge teenager. 16-year-old Jaden McDaniels was involved in a collision between the motorcycle on which he was a passenger and a Toyota RAV4, as reported by MassLive today. McDaniels later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
According to Boston 25 News, the accident was initially triggered by the motorcycle driver's high rate of speed. The driver sped through a stop sign and collided with the RAV4 as it was turning left onto Pleasant Street. This devastating event unfolded at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Putnam Avenue around 8:47 p.m.
As noted in NBC Boston, emergency personnel, including residents, Cambridge Fire, EMTs, and police officers, quickly attended to the scene and, offered first aid to both McDaniels and the motorcycle driver.
They were subsequently transported to Beth Israel Hospital, where McDaniels was pronounced deceased. The driver of the motorcycle, thankfully, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
