A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in the backyard of a building, located on the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue in Chatham neighborhood yesterday.
According to Chicago Sun-Times, the gunshot wound to the victim's left leg occurred just before 11 p.m., and he was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim's identity remains undisclosed, as the Cook County medical examiner's office has yet to release the information.
In a similar account, Fox 32 Chicago stated that the 29-year-old man was caught in sudden gunfire that broke out within the building's property.
No arrests have been made and detectives continue to investigate the tragic incident.
