Earlier today, a devastating accident unfolded on North St. in Duxbury, Massachusetts. A single vehicle, a Ford F-150, veered off course, colliding with a tree and leaving one man dead. According to NBC Boston, the driver was identified as 49-year-old Jason Haen of Pembroke.
As reported by Boston 25 News, Duxbury police responded to the scene around 1:15 a.m., where they found the heavily damaged truck pressed against a large tree. Haen had been ejected from the vehicle, and a witness was performing CPR when authorities arrived. Efforts to save him were unfortunately unsuccessful, as Haen was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to South Shore Hospital.
While details of the accident are still being investigated, authorities say that speed appeared to have been a factor in the crash. There has been no mention of any external influences or possible distractions, leaving the cause of the accident ultimately a mystery for the time being. The crash now remains under investigation by Duxbury Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS).
