The latest incident involved a collision between a 2016 BMW sedan and a 2003 Acura TL sedan, which occurred at the intersection of Quimby Road and S. White Road on September 8, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The preliminary findings indicate that the BMW's female driver made an unsafe lane change, leading to a collision with the Acura, which eventually hit a curbside tree.
The adult male driver of the Acura initially survived the impact, yet ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on September 23.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office following confirmation and next of kin notification.
