
An 18-year-old lost his life in an eruption of gun violence on the Chatham neighborhood in Chicago's South Side. The brutal crime unfolded outside at approximately 8 a.m., according to the Chicago Tribune.
Three assailants emerged from a black Dodge Charger letting loose a hail of gunfire while still on the 8100 block of South Ellis Avenue. Their brutal onslaught would leave the victim with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. The perpetrators then fled the scene, disappearing south on Ellis in their vehicle, as reported by Fox 32 Chicago.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene but the 18-year-old was pronounced dead. No one is in custody as of yet.
Detectives from Area Two continue their investigation, hoping to provide closure to the family and the community.
