A 25-year-old man was involved in a tragic motorcycle incident on DuSable Lake Shore Drive late Sunday night. The incident occurred around 11 p.m., as the man was traveling northbound in the 3600 block of the drive, ultimately hitting a guardrail that tragically lead to his death, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
In the aftermath of the initial crash involving the guardrail, the man was thrown into the southbound lanes where his body was struck by a passing vehicle, reported ABC7 Chicago. The resulting injuries from the series of events were too severe for the young man, who was promptly transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
Chicago police have turned the case over to their major accidents unit, who is carefully investigating the circumstances that led to this incident.
