
On September 9, a shooting took place in the parking lot of a local shopping center located at the 600 block of N Redondo Road in Oceanside, leaving a 29-year-old male victim dead.
As details of the events surrounding the incident emerge – three Hispanic male juveniles were described by witnesses as being around fifteen years old. With the youngest being a mere fourteen-year-old, according to the Oceanside Police Department's report.
The confrontation between the victim and his assailants quickly escalated, with one of the suspects producing a firearm and ultimately taking a life. The suspect proceeded to chase the victim, shooting him again in the upper torso area before fleeing the scene with his accomplices.
The authorities quickly located the youngest suspect, who had taken refuge in a nearby residence. The relationship between the victim and the suspects remains to be investigated, along with the motive behind the shooting.
