On the evening of September 28, 2023, a tragic incident occured in North Parkside, leaving two teenage boys with gunshot wounds. According to the Chicago Police Department, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old male were wounded as the result of an attempted robbery gone awry.
The victims were standing in a rear yard of a building in 2200 block of N. Parkside when an unknown assailant attempted to rob them at gunpoint. A struggle ensued and shots were fired.
The 18-year-told victim sustained gunshot wounds in his right leg and was transported to Loyola, while the 17-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to his right arm and was transported to Stroger. Both victims are reported to be in fair condition, as per the Chicago Police Department.
There is no one in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
