Late Thursday, September 21, a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg by an unknown assailant while standing outside on the 7100 block of S. State St. at approximately 11:42 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the injured man with a gunshot wound to his leg and swiftly transported him to the University of Chicago Hospital. The victim currently remains in good condition, despite the harrowing incident. Witnesses relayed to the police that the shooter was traveling in a black SUV, but further details remain scarce. No suspects are in custody and the investigation continues with the help of the Area One Detectives.
