On Tuesday, 26-year-old Christopher Marin Torres received a harsh dose of reality as he faced a 21-year prison sentence for a brief yet intensely violent spree in downtown San Diego. According to Times of San Diego. Torres, who had only a 15-minute window, managed to stab two people and attack several others on January 23rd. He also was not stopped by the legal system, as he was out on bail in a vandalism case at the time of these attacks.
One of the victims, a 69-year-old man, was stabbed 14 times during what appeared to be a robbery attempt. Torres did not relent there, continuing to terrorize the area in the early hours of the morning. He ended up stabbing a 71-year-old security guard from Allied Security four times, NBC San Diego reported.
Aside from the stabbings, Torres wielded a variety of weapons and tactics during this series of crimes, including a glass bottle and robberies. In downtown San Diego, numerous witnesses saw Torres attacking victims and stealing items such as backpacks. Throughout this violent spree, both stabbed victims went through surgery and are expected to survive, healing from their injuries.
