Earlier this week, an incident unfolded in the Lincoln Plaza parking lot in Worcester, Massachusetts, where officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team stopped an SUV with obscured license plates and excessive window tint. The ensuing interaction culminated in the arrest of the driver, Brian Rojas-Andino, on multiple charges including the possession of an illegal firearm and drugs, as stated in Worcester Police Department press release.

The ordeal began when officers observed Rojas-Andino, 36, inside his vehicle, seemingly ingesting marijuana. After he drove out of the parking lot, officers proceeded to pull him over. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers reportedly recognized the scent of smoked marijuana and observed an illegal double-edged knife within the driver's side door panel. When confronted and asked to step out of the vehicle, Rojas-Andino refused.

In a tense moment, Rojas-Andino allegedly attempted to put the vehicle in "drive." However, officers were able to subdue him by holding his hands, preventing him from moving the vehicle. During their struggle, officers noticed a black handgun in Rojas-Andino's waistband. They then removed him from the vehicle and placed him under arrest.

A search of his vehicle confirmed the possession of several drugs, such as crack cocaine, powder cocaine, Oxycodone, and additional bags of marijuana, along with a digital scale. Rojas-Andino now faces a litany of charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, carrying a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, trespass, and multiple drug trafficking charges.
