A 67-year-old man experienced a violent home invasion in quiet Brentwood, New Hampshire. As reported by NBC Boston, three males broke into the man's home, attacked him, and restrained his hands and feet. The police found him with severe injuries.
The assailants forced the man to exit his own home, leaving him bound and helpless on his lawn and making an escape with a firearm from his residence. The stolen firearm was later located in Massachusetts, according to Seacoast Current.
The victim's injuries required hospital treatment—they included fractured ribs and a broken scapula. As per WMUR, the perpetrators have since been identified, and the police are currently working to get warrants for their arrest. It is believed that the assailants had intended to serve a court order and the situation escalated.
Brentwood police assure the public that there is nothing to fear following this case, categorizing the incident as isolated. In an interview, Brentwood Police Chief John Ventura addressed the incident and the victim's condition, stating, "He was shaken up. Angry too. He had a visible, pretty serious laceration to his hand. Might have been the finger," as per WMUR. Ventura also mentioned the victim probably dealt with a bruised ego after being attacked within his own residence.
Efforts are ongoing from Brentwood police to collect evidence and conduct interviews for the investigation. Officials are urging local residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious behavior or relevant details pertaining to the crime directly to the Brentwood Police Department.
