
Yesterday, October 12, an unfortunate vehicular incident occurred in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, causing the tragically premature death of a construction worker. The accident details were released by the Pittsfield Police Department. The incident underscores the hazards faced by construction workers daily.
Pittsfield resident, Mr. Edward Ladouceur, 87, was driving eastbound on West St. at roughly 7:52AM when his 2015 Chevrolet Colorado veered into construction zone. Despite being directed into the westbound lane by a flagger, the vehicle struck Mr. Shane Cassavant from Lanesboro, who was working in the roadway. Mr. Cassavant's injuries eventually led to his passing at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
The investigation into the circumstances of this tragic occurrence is ongoing. West St. is now reopened after being closed for approximately three hours as the Pittsfield Police Department Traffic Unit compiled evidence. Officer Hallas is now seeking any individuals who were in the vicinity of the construction zone before to 7:50 AM to get in touch with the department.
