In June, an incident occurred in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where children suffered burn-like injuries on the slides of Bliss Park. Upon investigation, it was found that someone had poured acid on the slides. This week, two children were charged for their involvement in this act.
As reported by MassLive, four children suffered injuries from muriatic acid, a cleaning product utilized typically for pools. The acid brought about significant harm to the children, leading to emergency services springing into action to provide physical evaluations, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and pH testing.
Investigations indicated that the acid had been pilfered from a nearby pool building's pump room. WWLP reported, the culprits had accessed the chemical by damaging the property. The incident resulted in the Hampden District Attorney's Office arresting and charging two children involved in the act.
