Yesterday, a suspect was apprehended in Alameda, California, following a bank robbery on the 2200 block of Otis Drive.
The Alameda Police Department (APD) was quick in its response to the incident, according to the department's official news release.
The suspect allegedly handed a note to a bank teller, simulating the possession of a firearm, and demanded money. Acknowledging the threat, the teller complied. APD officers arrived at the bank rapidly, coordinating with bank staff to gather video evidence to aid in their investigation.
In the hour following the robbery, Alameda officers canvassed the area, sharing an image of the suspect with their patrol units. By doing so, they were able to successfully locate and make an arrest at a nearby business, according to APD's news release.
