Earlier this month, an armed robbery occurred aboard a CTA Green Line train on the 0-100 block of N. Wabash, Chicago. As detailed in a Chicago Police Department (CPD) Community Alert, two unidentified individuals demanded the property of a passenger, using the threat of violence. After the passenger handed over his belongings, the suspects fled.
The CPD urgently seeks the public's help to identify the suspects. Descriptions indicate that both suspects are African American men. The first suspect is thought to be between 18-30 years old, is around 5'7-5'9 and weighs 140-150 lbs. His attire included a blue jean jacket, ripped jeans, and black shoes, and he wore long, brown twisties. The second suspect is also thought to be between 18-30 years of age, and is larger, standing at 5'10-6'0, and weighing 200-230 lbs. His outfit consisted of a black jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
CPD's alert emphasizes the necessity of vigilance in public places and encourages people to quickly report suspicious activities by dialing 9-1-1. Importantly, the police advise to not chase fleeing suspects, but rather to provide any valuable information that can assist in their identification and subsequent arrest.
