Health officials in San Diego County have recently issued warnings against water contact at several key coastal locations because of dangerous bacteria levels.
Advisories have been released for several locations, including Avenida Lunar in Coronado, Tidelands Park shoreline, Dog Beach in Ocean Beach, Campland Beachline in Mission Bay, Pacific Beach's Tourmaline Surf Park, and both Cove Beachline and Children's Pool in La Jolla, according to the same Patch article. Moreover, water contact closures are in place at the Imperial Beach shoreline, the Silver Strand shoreline area, and the Tijuana Slough shoreline.
These concerns highlight the needed balance between natural forces and human activities, which can be easily disrupted. With the San Diego Coastkeeper reporting beach statuses from Camp Pendleton to the US/Mexico border, beach-goers must consistently stay aware of any possible water contact risks.
