
Yesterday, 2023, the U.S. Department of Justice revealed that Boston resident Alexis Radhames Diaz Tejeda, 45, pleaded guilty to a count of conspiring to distribute and possess fentanyl with intent to distribute.
Diaz Tejeda was previously charged and arrested in July 2022. A video-recorded controlled purchase on March 7th, 2022, in Dorchester, showed him supplying a confidential source with 15 counterfeit oxycodone pills, confirmed to contain fentanyl. Furthermore, in a similar controlled purchase in Lawrence on June 1st, 2022, Diaz Tejeda provided 996 fentanyl pills to the same source. He was apprehended in Dorchester the same day while preparing to sell additional 4,000 fentanyl pills. Together, Diaz Tejeda conspired to distribute roughly 5,500 fentanyl pills to the informant.
The significant implications of Diaz Tejeda's charge include up to 20 years in prison, a minimum of three years (up to a lifetime) of supervised release and a possible fine of up to $1 million. These penalties are subject to United States Sentencing Guidelines and the relevant statutes. Diaz Tejeda's sentencing hearing is set for January 5th, 2024.
