Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey declared a state of emergency in August, due to the accelerating migrant crisis. The state is adhering to the right to shelter law, providing accommodations to migrant families in hotels initially reserved for Army-Navy game fans.
Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis criticized the move, he voiced his concern, "Our veterans and service academy graduates are left without accommodation for the Army-Navy Game due to hotels sheltering illegal aliens at taxpayers' expense," as detailed by the Boston Globe. The much-awaited Army-Navy game, slated for December 9th, is experiencing challenges as veterans struggle to find hotel reservations.
Our veterans and service academy graduates cannot find anywhere to stay for the Army-Navy Game because hotels are housing illegal aliens on the taxpayers’ dime.

What a farce.
When I am president, the days of putting illegals aliens over Americans will be over. https://t.co/U6SGyHtC1L
Understanding the veterans' plight, Governor Healey asserted her commitment to collaboration with Jon Santiago, the Secretary of Veterans' Services, to provide assistance to all those affected, the Boston Globe reports.
Hotel bookings associated with the game were cancelled to house migrant families. The Town of Foxborough announced its plan in August. Mark Mansbach, the owner of Hillsdale Travel, verified the cancellation of 70 hotels rooms, leaving his clients in a bind to seek alternatives.
Potential changes to immigration policies and the right-to-shelter law have been suggested in order to address the situation by State Representative Steven Xiarhos. These critiques were met with a differing opinion from Claire Mulholand, Giri Hotel Management's Vice President of Marketing, defending the decision to assist the migrants. She expressed to NBC Boston, "We consider it a privilege to provide a sanctuary for those who have fled their homes due to adverse circumstances."
