In Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, a dog was fatally shot, prompting a police investigation. The pet owner found her dog injured from gunfire following several loud noises, according to Boston 25 News.
The incident unfolded yesterday, October 20, at an apartment building on Centre Street.
The dog, exiting the elevator, moved towards its owner's apartment, and quickly run down the stairs following a loud bang, reports Boston.com. It was only upon arrival at her apartment that the owner realized her dog had been shot.
To a shots-fired call, police responded and found three 380-caliber shell casings and two ballistic fragments alongside the incapacitated dog, situated in the building's fifth-floor hallway.
Despite her inability to identify a suspect, the owner confirmed that three juveniles were present in the residence during the incident.
The Boston police is investigating the incident.
