Yesterday, during a routine traffic stop in Dorchester, Boston Police recovered a loaded firearm. The stop resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Francisco Roa of Braintree for unlawful possession of firearms. Full details can be found on the official Boston Police website.
The Boston Police Youth Violence Strike Force was patrolling Geneva Avenue when a vehicle with a missing front license plate and a damaged front passenger door drew their attention. The officers conducted a traffic stop, during which Roa, a passenger in the vehicle, exited via the driver's side door due to the damaged passenger door.
Following the exit, officers spotted a firearm on the seat Roa had occupied. The weapon, to be later identified as a Glock 29 with nine rounds in the magazine, led to his arrest. The driver remained cooperative with law enforcement and was released without any charges.
Roa is now facing multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm. His arraignment is pending in Dorchester District Court.
