Boston's "Mass and Cass" area, a known arena for drug abuse, human trafficking, and homelessness, is under scrutiny after a two-year-old child was found with his mother earlier this month. Boston 25 News reports that the Boston Police have launched an investigation and filed reports with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
The police report notes that officers came across the mother and child sleeping in a vehicle near a McDonald's at Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. The car was later towed due to expired registration. Despite being insufficiently dressed for the cool weather, the child was considered healthy by Boston EMS, according to WCVB. The officers on the ground provided a blanket for the child.
The child's supposed father was arrested on the same day for active warrants related to driving under the influence and possessing Class A drugs, Boston 25 News cites the police report.
