Yesterday, an 18-year-old from Bridgewater was killed in a motorcycle accident on Bedford Street. The unnamed teen hit a 2014 Ford economy van and a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, before passing away from his injuries at a local hospital according to MassLive.
The accident occurred when, according to reports, the motorbike was traveling southbound on Bedford Street at a high pace in the breakdown lane. The motorcycle moved to the breakdown lane to overtake vehicles on the right, hitting the van that was making a left-hand turn from the Northbound lane, as reported by Boston 25 News. The impact made the motorcycle swing to the northbound lane and hit the Jeep. The drivers of both the van and the Jeep were not injured and cooperated with the authorities at the scene, according to MassLive.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, the Raynham Police’s Accident Reconstruction Unit, and the Bridgewater Police Department are currently investigating.
