Three men were arrested on theft-related charges in Cambridge on Thursday, October 5th, according to the Cambridge Police Department. John Munguia, Ernest Elton, and Lachlan Anders, aged 30, 21 and 22, were detained during a patrol when their Honda Accord was flagged as stolen.
Munguia tried to escape during the arrest but was quickly apprehended. Elton and Anders offered little cooperation during questioning, leading to their arrest.
Unique to their charges were Munguia's open container of in-vehicle alcohol and unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and Elton's possession of a theft-detection deactivator.
Two additional theft-detection deactivators found in the back seat indicated potential plans for further crimes, particularly retail theft.
