The San Leandro Police Department recently reported the arrest of Castro Valley resident, Dung Tu. Tu, a healthcare professional at San Leandro Hospital, is accused of sexually assaulting a patient during an examination in September 2022. 

Following the initial report of assault, the Special Victims Unit launched an investigation into the incident, per the SF Gate news report. Responding to the findings, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged 46-year-old Dung Tu with "sexual battery by fraud" under section 243.4(c) of the California Penal Code (source:). The investigation continues, with the potential for additional victims yet to be discovered.

According to the Patch report, investigators suspect that Tu has been implicated in similar cases in the past.
