Today, a disturbing event shook North Mayfield, Chicago. A man shot a woman and then fatally wounded himself during a domestic dispute.
The Chicago Police Department reported that a 54-year-old male involved in a heated altercation with a 42-year-old female, subsequently opened fire, striking the woman in her left leg. The woman was then delivered to Loyola hospital, and is in good health. The man, tragically, chose to end his own life.
The incident happened in the 1700 block of N Mayfield.
A handgun was found at the scene and Area Five detectives are underway with their further investigation.
