
On October 11th, a fire erupted at a nursing home located at 3101 W. Touhy Avenue in Chicago's West Ridge neighborhood. The incident prompted fire officials to send approximately 12 ambulances and extra equipment to the site, as reported by the Chicago Tribune. Luckily, no injuries were reported as of 9 a.m., thanks to the efficiency of emergency responders in suppressing the flames.

According to Larry Langford, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department (CFD), the fire was localized to the kitchen area. As a result, one resident minorly inhaled smoke, and another resident experienced a similar condition. One firefighter sustained a minor facial injury from a fall while putting out the fire, as referenced in the Chicago Tribune.
