Yesterday evening, gunfire resulted in multiple injuries in Chicago, raising concerns about community safety. The Chicago Police Department reported four gunshot wound incidents, highlighting the ongoing struggle with citywide violence.

A 19-year-old woman was injured in a shooting on the 6700 block of S. Laflin, and was rushed to the U of C Hospital. Another victim, a 29-year-old man, injured on the 200 block of E.116th St., reached Roseland Hospital on his own. 

Gunfire echoed yet again at 6:33 p.m., on the 3700 block of W. Congress. A 47-year-old man was ambushed by four armed men in an attempted vehicle theft. He sustained a leg injury while trying to escape and later received medical attention on the 0-100 block of N. Mason.

The violence escalated on the 400 Block of E. 111th St. Two men were shot by an unidentified man during a verbal altercation. Both victims, a 29-year-old and a 41-year-old, were quickly transported to Christ Hospital, immediately initiating detective investigation of the incident.
