Today, Chicago's 15th Police District officers uncovered an untraceable firearm and cannabis during a traffic stop, according to a Cook County Sheriff's Office post. The traffic stop was initiated due to erratic vehicle movement.
The officers detected the odor of cannabis after approaching the vehicle, and discovered the driver without a valid license. As a result of their investigation, they seized a firearm with a laser attachment and a defaced serial number, along with a suspected cannabis-filled cigar. The firearm's tampered serial number essentially renders the weapon untraceable.
Felony charges have been given to the driver.
