Chicago resident, Lynn Resendez, 41, has been charged with the attempted murder of a Chicago police officer on September 2, 2023, according to the Chicago Police Department. Resendez, who resides in the 9800 block of S. Ewing Ave., has also been charged with one count each of aggravated assault with the use of a firearm on a peace officer, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a license; both being felonies.
Authorities stated that the confrontation transpired in the 9900 block of S. Ewing in the city’s 4th District. Resendez, allegedly pulled the trigger of a firearm aiming towards a police officer, but thankfully, no police was injured.
Following this incident, Resendez was captured on Monday, October 23, by the Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force, and is currently in custody.
