
The Chicago neighborhood of the 002nd District (Wentworth) is being struck by a string of robberies, causing unrest among residents and demanding the attention of local police. According to the recent Community Alert from the Chicago Police Department, each incident involves a small team of males who exit a vehicle, threaten male victims with black handguns, and demand their property.
Mentioned in the alert, four occurrences between October 2nd and October 6th, varied only in terms of location.
The criminals, described as African-American males wearing black hooded sweatshirts and ski masks, have no clear pattern other than to commit the crimes at different times of the day.
Authorities have urged the public to stay aware of their surroundings, report suspicious activities, and stay calm if confronted. They should also identify and report any distinct physical characteristics of the attackers such as scars or limps.
