Chicago's 2nd District (Wentworth) has seen a recent surge in car thefts, drawing attention from citizens and law enforcement. The crimes occurred between October 27 and 29, with various vehicle models targeted. Consequently, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) issued a community alert, encouraging community vigilance and protective measures.
The victims, as per the Chicago Police Department, had their vehicles parked legally, only to later find them missing. Authorities have recommended numerous safety measures, including not leaving keys in unattended cars, employing anti-theft devices, parking in well-lit areas, quickly reporting suspicious activities, and ensuring vehicle doors and windows are always locked.
