In the early hours of Tuesday, October 24, a spree of armed robberies rattled the 9th and 12th Districts of Chicago. An official Chicago Police Department (CPD) community alert detailed six incidents between 5:25 a.m. and 6:29 a.m.
The perpetrators, described as three to four men armed with black handguns, forcefully took their victims' possessions and made their escape in a red or maroon SUV—presumably a Ford Escape.
The Chicago Police Department recommends, among other safety precautions, that individuals remain aware of their surroundings and report these incidents via a 9-1-1 call. Residents are also advised to remember any unique physical characteristics of the offenders but to avoid conflict or pursuit of the individuals.
