On Monday night, four individuals fell victim to shootings across Chicago, resulting in one fatality and one person critically injured.
The first shooting happened around 8:04 p.m. in the 10900 block of S. State with a 36-year-old man injured in his left arm. Transported to Christ Hospital, his condition was reported good. This incident is under investigation by Area Two detectives.
A 24-year-old man needed medical attention later the same evening. Discovered at a CTA station on the 1500 block of N Damen with a gunshot wound to his left hand, it was later suggested his injury was self-inflicted. Area Five detectives are investigating.
A series of two shootings followed after 11 p.m. In the first, a 45-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the right side of his chest in an alley at the 5000 block of W North Ave. The victim is in critical condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital and the investigation continues with no suspects in custody.
The last shooting of the night led to a death. Police responded to shooting reports in the 1600 block of W 47th St and found a 29-year-old male inert in a car from multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead on site. No suspects are currently in custody and the investigation continues.
