Promotions in Chicago included discounted or complimentary tacos, contingent on customer engagement on social media and specific attire.
Select branches of the Laredo Taco Company, housed in 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores, had beef fajita tacos going for $2 today. The offer is valid while stock lasted. Additionally, Bubbakoo's Burritos ran a social-media-based competition rewarding 15 customers with free taco trios for a year. To participate, customers simply needed to like, to comment on, or to share posts across the brand's social media platforms between October 2 and 8, with winners being named on October 11.
On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina provided patrons with offers including $2 classic tacos, $4 Southwest chicken or brisket tacos, and $3 bottled beers. Furthermore, Taco Bell's sought-after Taco Lover's Pass was available on October 3 and 4. For $10, pass holders were entitled to one taco per day for 30 consecutive days.
Joining the National Taco Day promotions, Taco John's rewarded its program members with a complimentary Taco Bravo upon any purchase. In a similar vein, Qdoba's rewards members received double points with any purchase on October 4th.
There was an assortment of deals and give-outs on October 4, 2023, surprisingly a Wednesday, despite "Taco Tuesday" being more traditional. Additional offers included $1 ground beef tacos with any order at Chuy's and a free meal to anyone dressing as a taco. Del Taco offered weekly deals and waived delivery fees on orders over $20 over October as part of its Tacoberfest promotion.
Moe's Southwest Grill broke free from traditional taco structure, with its fleeting Eggo Taco offering. Employing an Eggo waffle in lieu of tortilla, this unique concoction featured toppings like adobo chicken, bacon, shredded cheese and chipotle ranch. The restaurant marked National Taco Day by giving away an Eggo Taco with every entree purchase. Also, Rubio's treated customers to a free a la carte taco upon purchase of any non-drink or side item. Fuzzy's Taco Shop welcomed its rewards members with two complimentary tacos whereas non-members had to pay $1.50 per taco.

Evidently, National Taco Day provided an accessible excuse to indulge in this beloved dish while businesses seized the opportunity to honour the occasion.
