Yesterday, October 27, a critical development occurred in the battle against child pornography in Christian County, Illinois. State Attorney General Kwame Raoul announced that Billy J. Hulfachor, 37, plead guilty to five counts of Class 1 felony possession of child pornography, as stated by the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Hulfachor, a resident of Pana, Illinois, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison following his plea of admission.
This successful prosecution is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, the Pana Police Department, and the Christian County Sheriff's Office.
The ICAC Task Force observed a 26% increase in CyberTipline reports in 2022 according to the Illinois Attorney General's office.
There are currently 61 ICAC Task Forces nationwide. These teams comprised over 175 local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
