An automobile accident involving a single vehicle in Santa Rosa yesterday evening claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl and caused multiple injuries.

The Santa Rosa Police Department's report indicates that 21-year-old Santa Rosa resident, Jaden Pruett Steed was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the incident. 

Despite the swift response from law enforcement, first responders, and local citizens, the 17-year-old girl could not be saved. The two other passengers, a 19-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, were rushed to local hospitals to treat critical injuries and burns.

Steed, with only minor injuries, was taken into custody after a preliminary DUI investigation identified a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.11 percent.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, Pruett Steed is facing several charges, including felony driving under the influence, causing injury to others, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
