A recent incident in West Washington underscores the ongoing issues of violence confronting the area. Yesterday evening, October 3, a 30-year-old man sustained seven gunshot wounds, and a 23-year-old man was shot in the head.
Per the Chicago Police report, the older victim quickly fled the scene after four armed assailants unloaded gunfire at him from a silver sedan. This victim managed to seek refuge in a nearby house before being transported in good condition to Mt. Sinai hospital.
The second man was found unconscious on the street, critically wounded. He was also taken to Mt. Sinai hospital, where his condition remains critical.
Regrettably, no suspects have been arrested, impeding the ongoing investigation of Area Four detectives.
