On October 11, 2023, two armed robberies occurred on West North Avenue within 16 minutes of each other. Per the 14th District of the Chicago Police Department, three unidentified males, wearing ski masks and armed with handguns, invaded a business. They demanded cash from the victim, and escorted him to the rear of the establishment before fleeing.
Somewhat similarly, a store on the 2700 block of West North Avenue was the site of another, subsequent robbery. Again, three males in dark clothing and ski masks entered the venue, demanding items from four male victims. Chicago Police Department confirms the victims and the store complied with their requests, with the culprits making a swift exit on foot following in an unknown direction.
Area Five detectives are actively investigating both instances. Currently, no the arrests have been made relating to these incidents. Additionally, despite the threatening nature of these crimes, no injuries were reported.
