Earlier today, an early frost advisory was issued around certain areas of Chicago, creating conditions resembling early November. As reported by the National Weather Service, this advisory affected McHenry, Lake, Kane, and Kendall counties, where temperatures were expected to drop to around 36 degrees according to NBC Chicago.
A frost advisory warns about potential harm to sensitive vegetation due to low temperatures. Measures are therefore required to protect these plants from potential damage or destruction. DeKalb county was initially included in the advisory but was later removed. Typically, in Chicago, the first freeze occurs on October 19, when temperatures reach or drop below 32 degrees.
Monday's weather forecast wasn't only about the cold for Chicago. The forecast indicated patchy morning frost for the more extensive region, with highs expected to reach mid-50s throughout the day. The week was expected to see fluctuating temperatures and regular showers.
Tuesday was expected to be a bit warmer, with cloudy weather and highs close to 60 degrees according to ABC 7 Chicago forecast. As the week advanced, Wednesday was set to bring evening showers, leading into a wet and windy Thursday. Showers were again probable on Friday, with the temperature reaching a high of 63 degrees. Lingering clouds and morning showers over the weekend indicated that Chicago residents might continue to experience early November-like weather.
