Yesterday, a fatal traffic collision occurred on North Mines Road at Shirley Way in Livermore, claiming the life of one man. A Facebook post by the Livermore Police Department reported that the incident involved a collision between a red Honda CRV and a motorcycle.

Livermore Police found that the motorcycle had been traveling northbound on North Mines Road when the southbound Honda SUV made a turn onto Shirley Way, colliding with the oncoming motorcycle. Despite immediate attempts at life-saving measures by members of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, the motorcyclist, a Livermore man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a woman in her 60s also from Livermore, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Based on preliminary findings, it appears that the driver didn't notice the motorcyclist and didn't yield the right of way. The police at this point in time have not found any evidence of drugs or alcohol being a factor in the crash.

The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau is in the process of identifying and notifying the deceased individual's next of kin.
