Chicago residents awoke to a chilly and foggy morning today, though a brief warm-up is expected by midweek. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning for patchy fog in low-lying areas and river valleys, primarily outside of the city. Though the fog may pose challenges for commuters in terms of visibility changes, temperatures are likely to reach around 60 degrees by afternoon as the fog subsides, offering mostly clear skies.
After a chilly and foggy start to the day, temps will warm to around 60 this afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Our warm-up peaks Wednesday just ahead of our next weather system, though rain chances will return Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday. #ILwx #INwx pic.twitter.com/CwWVvIFBmm
