An altercation took place on the 5700 block of South Prairie, Chicago, where gunfire was exchanged between two individuals yesterday, October 2. Initial assumptions were of a carjacking, however, the narrative changed upon further investigation. Per a Chicago Police media statement, a 43-year-old man got shot in his abdomen and left arm when an assailant demanded his vehicle. The victim was then transferred in critical condition to the University of Chicago hospital.
Further truth unraveled when it was learned that a 36-year-old woman was also involved in the dispute with the male victim, both exchanged gunfire. They were transported to the University of Chicago hospital, where the male is critical and the female in good condition. It was later confirmed by the Chicago Police's updated report, to no carjacking been happened.
With nobody yet in custody, Area One detectives to investigate continue the incident.
